NORTH Gas Burner with adjustable flame and piezo ignition
The NORTH Gas Burner gives a concentrated flame for crème brûlée, meringue and gratins. It refills with butane gas, sold separately.
How to use
- Filling: Turn the ignition button clockwise to close the gas. Turn the burner upside down and press the gas canister nozzle straight down into the filling valve in the base. Stop as soon as liquid gas escapes, and wait a few minutes before lighting.
- Lighting: Turn the ignition button anticlockwise to open the gas and press it in. The flame lights instantly.
- Adjusting: Turn the flame controller below the burner head. Towards minus gives a shorter flame. For the best heat, keep the flame at 10 to 25 mm.
- Turning off: Turn the ignition button slightly clockwise until it pops up, then close the valve fully by turning further clockwise.
- Storage: Let the burner cool down and store it in a dry place, out of reach of children and away from sunlight and open flames.
Questions and answers
Is gas included?
No. Use standard butane gas for lighters and torches, sold separately.
How long can I use it at a time?
No more than 5 minutes at a time. Let it cool before using it again.
The flame is unstable or sputters. What should I do?
Turn the flame down to 10 to 25 mm. If you have just filled the burner, wait a few minutes for the gas to settle. Keep it upright during use.
I can smell gas. What should I do?
Turn it off and take the burner outside, away from open flames. Check for leaks with soapy water, never with a flame. Do not use it if it leaks or the seals are worn.
