NORTH Coffee Filter Gold, reusable stainless steel coffee filter
Reusable cone coffee filter in fine-mesh stainless steel with a gold-coloured PVD titanium coating. For drip coffee makers and pour-over, with no paper filter.
How to use
- Before first use: wash the filter in warm water with a little washing-up liquid, rinse and let it dry.
- Check that the filter fits the filter holder of your coffee maker and that the holder closes as normal.
- Place the filter in the filter holder instead of a paper filter and add ground coffee directly. Use 6 to 10 level tablespoons per litre of water.
- Start the coffee maker as usual. For pour-over: pour a little hot water over the coffee, then pour the rest slowly in circular motions.
- Let the filter cool a little, lift it out by the handle, empty the grounds and rinse the filter under hot water. Let it air dry.
Questions and answers
Do I need a paper filter?
No. The fine mesh filters the coffee and lets the natural oils through for a fuller taste.
Why is there a little sediment in my cup?
This is normal with a metal filter. Medium to coarse ground coffee gives the least sediment.
The water runs slowly or overflows. What should I do?
The coffee is ground too finely or there is too much coffee. Use a coarser grind or less coffee, and deep clean the filter.
How do I deep clean the filter?
Soak it for 30 minutes in warm water with 1 to 2 tablespoons of bicarbonate of soda, rinse and let it dry. Do this once a week with daily use.
Will the filter fit my coffee maker?
The filter measures approx. 11.7 × 10 cm across the top and is approx. 8 cm high. Place it in the filter holder and check that the holder closes. If it does not close, do not use the filter in that coffee maker.
